Trays are usually manufactured from 1.6mm aluminium. May also be made from 2.0mm aluminium, 1.6mm or 2.00mm marine grade aluminium, 1.2mm aluminised steel or mild steel (black steel) if sufficient quantity. Pressed trays sides are angled to allow for close stacking saving storage space in the bakery.
The pressed trays shown (BT3P16) have the sides and closed end angled for easy nesting and cleaning.
These trays are usually supplied uncoated, however, can be supplied with either clear silicone or Black PTFE (this coating requires aluminium trays to be 2mm thick). RTV silicone Rubber (Orange).
Silicone coated trays require ‘burning in’.PTFE coated trays should be oiled when new. Failure to oil new trays when first used can affect release properties and longevity.
